2025 Digital Advent #3: Salty's Lair

Running a little late in these trying times but never giving up! Our third entry is the legendary, the unforgettable, the only, Salty! Yes, it's saltedslug.net, a.k.a Salty's Lair. An incredibly stylish, cool, and rugged website if I've ever seen one. If you like things gritty, definitely check out her site.

How did I find this website?

I think this will be a repeating story but me and Salty followed each other on Neocities at one point and I was immediately impressed by her site. I also really loved the sticker she had that read 'Salty's wife is always right!'. We had a lot of common interests, primarily in movies! Yes, both me and Salty are big fans of the second Star Wars prequel movie, Attack of The Clones. Panned by critics, hated by fans... forever in our hearts! If there's one thing that will forge a good friendship it's the love of an often overlooked and divisive film. Salty has also recommended Tapeheads to me but I still haven't seen it which is a crime. I mean, it has her approval and John Cusack, I love John Cusack!

Check this website out if you like...

So, if you like all things retro, Salty's site is for you. I'm serious, she's got it all! A very extensive resource page to many active and archived forums, boards, tools, quizzes, webrings, directories, and more! She's got an art and music page, I really dig her art, it's got a very strong and unique look. There's music she made and a music blog, a PC building project, an awesome Sims shrine and more in the future perhaps? It's just endless goodness for any fan of old tech and media to explore.

My favourite page on the website is...

Salty has one main layout for her site and some very clear headers and dividers to tell you what exactly you're looking at. So obviously I love how it looks, the cool cartoon-y mechanical frame is excellent. And I also really love the Sims shrine.
