2025 Digital Advent #2: RetroMaster94

Welcome to day two of the advent. Are you ready for more incredible web design? I have been absolutely wowed by every iteration and page the following webmaster has created... there is some graphic and motion design that is not just professional, but unique and immeasurably pleasing and creative. It's... rm94.neocities.org! They also go by RetroMaster94 or just Retro. As a fellow green-fan, I was instantly drawn to this site.

How did I find this website?

I'm not exactly sure when, but I think early this year we also followed each other on Neocities. I have been keeping an eye out for any new development on Retro's site, I already loved their OG look but it got even better a couple of months ago when they changed things up and completed EVERY SINGLE page on their site. Couldn't be me... wish it were!

Check this website out if you like...

If you love: original and jaw-droppingly cool logo design, motion graphics, an impressive collection of radio jingles, Nintendo games, history and info about very cool topics; from specific radio and TV stations to roller coasters! If a cool promo for something existed, Retro probably has an in-depth and accurate analysis of it. Sexy downloads in the form of wallpapers. Listen, if you thought the best thing about TV in the 2000s was the graphics (usually true), Retro's site is for you!

My favourite page on the website is...

Argh! It's pretty hard to pick just one page... they all have such amazing features...there's a universality to all the pages that I really love: the layouts are pretty much the same but the style is not stale and the backgrounds really pop. I guess if I had to pick I would say the pop-up windows for all the hyperfixations are just so good! Please visit Retro's site and check out all their creative projects, I think their already amazing site and work will only get cooler in the future.

2025 Digital Advent #1: Alice In Avocado Land

Happy December! We're finally starting this little digital event and we're starting really strong. One of my fave websites of all time... aliceinavocadoland.neocities.org! Yes, if Alice has a million fans I am on of them, if she has only one fan, that's me, if she has zero fans I am literally dead. Killed in action. Without further ado, please read on as to why this is an awesome website for you to visit and then go visit it!

How did I find this website?

Sometime in perhaps late 2024, we followed each other on Neocities. We met on the Nostalgia Message Board and wrote in each other's guestbooks. One may say, coincidence? Or is it destiny?! We have so many common interests and over the year we became internet friends. I immediately liked Alice's site when we just began to follow each other, I brought it up on my main blog a few times and I was super pleasantly shocked that she read my blog and reached out! How cool!

Any of the following: emo expertise (doctorate level), amazing blogs and concert diaries, Jay Chou, Thursday, Nirvanna The Band The Show, incredibly well-crafted pages a-la late 2000s splash-texture blogs, unique and gorgeous fanlistings, the movie Brick, and more.

My favourite page on the website is...

This is basically impossible to narrow down to just one page... I mean, I'm obsessed with just the first splash page on it's own. I also love her new about page and her music blog... but I think Avocado Records is just black-pink emo perfection. I had a very long Avril phase, okay?! I know Alice is cooking up even more good stuff in the mean time and I already have first row tickets.
