Hey. Welcome to Finnybox, my blog where I chat about my ongoing and future projects. It's usually comics or games or something of the kind. I'm doing things different this Mermay. I decided to just draw and work on characters from my comic project called Marmoris. It's about surfing and mermaids, so it feels appropriate.

Our main character is Neifion (no surname yet). He's stubborn, holds a grudge for very long, is overly confident, and is kind of a dick to a lot of people. Deep inside he is afraid of being weak and alone and overcompensates for that by keeping a real small circle of friends and family and not letting anyone else close. After an incident with his former surfing club, he dropped out of school, the club, and hasn't been in the ocean water despite living right next to it.

Nei wears mostly blues, greens, and greys in his human form. I picked very casual surf crush styles for him including cargo shorts, swimming shorts, diving/surfing shirts, etc. 'Swerv' will be some kind of an in-universe Quicksilver brand, I'll probably slap it wherever. He works as a garbage man, so he wears a bright green vest over his usual clothes. His surfing or beach wear usually will have long sleeves:

The challenge for this day was making a good-enough concept page of Nei. It was inspired by this concept work of Peter Parker by the late John Paul Leon. It's pretty clean and flat, which I think would work great for me.
